Riihimäki Rock 2009

Uskomattoman ihastuttava ja persoonallinen Irina esiintyi perjantaina Riihimäki Rockissa. Tunnin ajan lavan täytti suunnaton naisenergia ja hyvä fiilis. 

Olen aina pitänyt Irinasta, nyt vielä enemmän! Hän on suurenmoinen!

 

Incredibly charming and personal Irina performed in Riihimäki Rock on Friday. The stage was filled enormous female energy and good vibes. 

I have always liked Irina, now even more! She's wonderful!

Happy moments

Juhannus meni ja uusi viikko alkoi. Eilen kävimme "tyttöjen" kesken Ikeassa vanhemman siskoni ja sisarentyttären kanssa. Illan kruunasi muutama hyvä ostos.

Midsummer went and new week began. Yesterday, "girls" were at Ikea, I, my older sister and her daughter. We had fun and the evening was topped off by a few good founds. 

Olin hakenut pöytävalaisinta, sellaista sopivasti patinoitunutta, enkä ollut löytänyt sopivanlaista, joten päädyin lopulta ostamaan uuden. Tämä kuitenkin muotonsa puolesta miellytti minua kovasti. 

 

First, I have been seeking a suitable table light, something a little bit old and used. I hadn't found the right kind of light so I eventually ended up to buy a new one. However, these cute forms pleased me very much.

Kangasosastolla aikaa olisi voinut viettää enemmänkin, mutta meillä tuli ilta vastaan. Valitsin lintuaiheista kangasta ja kotimatkalla mieleeni tuli jo idea, mihin kankaan voisin käyttää. Siitä lisää tuonnempana, mikäli totoutus saa tuulta siipiensä alle. 

I could have spend a lot of more time in fabric department but evening went so quickly. I chose fabric with bird subjects and on the way to home I already had one idea in my mind what to make from the fabric. I'll tell you more later if that idea get the wind under the wings.

Päivän hyvä teko oli vanhan naapurinrouvan kassin kantaminen kotiovelle. Siitä kiitoksena sain hynmyilevät kasvot ja oksan juhannusruususta. Voi mikä tuoksu. Tätä olen kaivannut!

One good work belonged to this day also. I carried the bag of old neighbor's lady. She was happy, smiled me and give me a twig of Midsummer rose. Oh, what a lovely scent. I had missed that.

New light

Etsintä on viimein päättynyt. Olohuoneeseen löytyi valaisin, johon voin sanoa olevani enemmän kuin tyytyväinen. Olen niin onnellinen, että vähän väliä pitää käydä kurkkaamassa, olihan se varmasti totta. 

Searching is finally over. I found the light to the living room which I'm more than pleased. Can't be happier! Every now and then I have to go and look that it's really true.

Midsummer Eve

Juhannusvalmistelut vielä vaiheessa. Tavarat pakkaamatta. 

Kaikki kuitenkin mietitty valmiiksi.

Midsummer preparations aren't yet finished. All things unpacked. 

But everything is already planned before.

Ennalta arvaamatta konevanhus sanoi aamulla sopimuksensa irti. Olin kauhuissani. 

My old friend quit the contract this morning. I couldn't expect that and that's why I was terrified.

Onneksi osa juhannusyllätyksistä ennätti valmistua. 

Thankfully some of Midsummer surprises were already prepared.

Väännetään rautalangasta

Ostin muutamia viikkoja sitten eripaksuisia rautalankoja tarkoituksena saada niistä jotakin hauskaa aikaiseksi. Ideoita oli mielessä moniakin, mutta niiden toteutus ontui. Paksun langan vääntely ei onnistunut haluamallani tavalla ja lopulta syntyi vain yksinkertaisia sydämiä. Langat odottavat yhä uutta inspiraatiota.

I bought a few weeks ago several thicknesses of iron wires aim to make something funny from them. I had many ideas in my mind but the implementation doesn't work. I wasn't at my best twisting thick wire and finally I made only simple heart shapes. 

Wires are still waiting for new inspiration.

Upeaa rojua

Kälylläni on uskomaton määrä ihania sisustuskirjoja. Kyläreissulla on aina yhtä miellyttävää koluta kirjahyllyä ja tehdä löytöjä. Tämä ihanuus osui käteeni viime kerralla.

My sister-in-law has an incredible amount of wonderful interior and furnishing books. It's always as lovely to go through her bookcase and make discoveries. This is what I found last time.

New week - new start

Karnevaalit ovat takana. Eilen totesin, että onneksi ne ovat vain kerran vuodessa. Iloista päivää ja yötä seuraa monesti väsynyt aamu. Näin myös eilen. 

Carnival is behind. Yesterday I said that, fortunately, it is only once a year. Tired morning follows the happy day and night. Like yesterday.

Helsinki Samba Carnaval 2009

Tulevana viikonloppuna Helsingissä on Sambakarnevaalit, joihin myös sambiclaiset osallistuvat. Luvassa on letkeää menoa, joka jatkuu yhä kulkueen jälkeen Baile do Carnaval-iltajuhlassa. Esiintyjinä ovat mm. Kaoma ja Banda Reggae Papagaio.

Muistatko yhä Kaoman vuosien takaisen hitin Lambadan?

There is Samba Carneval in Helsinki next weekend. Also Sambic group take part in. Joyful and relaxed feelings continues after the parade in Baile do Carnaval evening celebration. Kaoma and Banda Reggae Papagaio belong to the performers, e.g.

Grand Master's Palace

Kun kerran vauhtiin päästiin, niin tehdään vielä pieni matka Rodoksen Vanhaan kaupunkiin, tällä kertaa Suurmestarin Palatsiin. 

I'm get going. How about a little tour in the Old Town of Rhodes? Grand Master's Palace, this time. 

Rodoksen ritarit rakensivat palatsin 1300-luvulla. Se on todella käymisen arvoinen paikka, johon kannattaa varata aikaa. Palatsissa on 135 huonetta, joista vain osa tosin on auki yleisölle.

Knight of Rhode built the Palace in the 14th century. It really is worth visiting but take a lot of time. There are about 135 rooms, but only part of them are open to tourists.

I interested a lot of Knights of Rhodes and that's why I bought this book from the museum shop. They didn't have Finnish edition yet, unfortunately.
